LERN Lawyers to Lobby at the UN Economic and Social Council for an End to Violence Against Women and Girls in Haiti

Lawyers with IJDH’s Lawyers’ Earthquake Response Network (LERN) are preparing to attend Wednesday’s UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) substantive session to lobby for an effective and efficient response to the rash of rape in Haiti’s internally displaced persons’ camps. The LERN lawyers will present current information about the skyrocketing incidence of violence against Haitian women, and will outline concrete recommendations for how to effectively and efficiently protect Haiti’s women and girls.
