This is an audio update from Meena Jagannath, BAI Legal Fellow. As the legal fellow focusing on the Rape Accountability and Prevention Project (RAPP), Meena works closely with Haitian grassroots groups to create mechanisms that hold perpetrators of gender-based violence accountable and that transform the social context underling the vulnerability of poor Haitian women.
In this podcast, Meena gives an update after a meeting with the Haitians Women’s Ministry. The meeting offered a forum for Haitians to critique, comment on, and improve a newly proposed law dealing with violence against women.
