Part 1 – Human rights lawyer and activist Brian Concannon Jr. directs the Boston-based Institute for Justice & Democracy in Haiti (IJDH). The Institute promotes human rights in Haiti by litigating cases in Haitian, U.S. and international courts, documenting human rights violations and training lawyers and grassroots activists in Haiti. IJDH’s current cases include an Inter-American Commission on Human Rights proceeding on behalf of earthquake survivors at risk of illegal eviction, a case against the United Nations for introducing cholera to Haiti, and the prosecution of Jean-Claude Duvalier.

Jen Robinson at CCR Social Justice Conference Panel 

Part 2 – Jen Robinson is an Australian human rights lawyer and Director of Legal Advocacy at the Bertha Foundation in London. She has acted in numerous free speech and freedom of information cases for media organisations such as the New York Times and Bloomberg and in human rights cases such as defending political prisoners and activists in West Papua, Indonesia. She is known internationally for her work defending Julian Assange and WikiLeaks and has been working with the Center for Constitutional Rights in relation to United States v. Bradley Manning. She is an adjunct lecturer in law at Sydney University and regularly comments on human rights issues for the media.

Ejim Dike at CCR Social Justice Conference Panel

Part 3 – Ejim Dike is Executive Director of the US Human Rights Network. Ms. Dike has worked on social policy issues for over fifteen years and in the domestic human rights arena for the past ten years. Her human rights work focuses on addressing poverty and discrimination using a human rights framework.
