On May 19, Haitians, Africans, and Latin Americans from around the U.S. and Canada will rally in Washington, DC, around Haitian Flag Day to demand:
Trump apologize to countries he called “shitholes;”
Permanent residency for all TPS holders;
U.S. & UN reparations to Haiti;
Stop police profiling & terror against black & brown communities;
UN occupation police out of Haiti;
Stop U.S. meddling in Haiti elections.
On Jan. 11, near the 8thanniversary of Haiti’s 2010 earthquake, President Donald Trump called Haiti a “shithole” country, along with El Salvador and African nations. He continues racist and anti-immigrant policies and provocative statements and Tweets.
Announcements have begun in the media. They have the permit for the rally. What they now need is funding for buses, flyers, posters, banners, water, and other rally expenses.
