Institute for Justice and Democracy in Haiti

IJDH Launches Search for Next Executive Director

IJDH Executive Director Position Description
Dear Friends,
I am excited to announce that the Institute for Justice & Democracy (IJDH) is making a transition to the next generation of leadership that will take the organization into the future. After 14 years of leading the Institute, it is time for me to step aside as Executive Director.
It has been a privilege to work with my colleagues at IJDH and the Bureau des Avocats Internationaux, as well as our collaborators. We have won many important victories, including the UN’s historic apology for bringing cholera to Haiti, victories in Haitian and international courts, the establishment and several extensions of TPS, training of many people’s lawyers in Haiti, etc.  Although I need to recharge my batteries, I am confident that my dedicated and talented BAI and IJDH colleagues will win many more victories in the years to come. I am also confident that I will have other opportunities to support Haitians’ inspiring fight for justice.
This message—and this job announcement—launches our search for a new Executive Director. We are counting on our friends, collaborators and supporters to help us find IJDH’s next leader. So please encourage anyone interested in the position to apply, and forward the job description to your networks and listserves. The deadline for applying is March 1.
