Half-Hour for Haiti: Help Improve IJDH’s Website

Thank you for everyone who wrote to Interim President Boniface Alexandre on behalf of Haiti’s political prisoners.  The letters sent to us were delivered to him on Monday, including one from the 40,000 member Hospital Employees Union. Today is Haiti’s Constitution Day, and so far we have not heard of any releases.  We will let you know next week if there’s good news.

IJDH’s website, www.ijdh.org, has blossomed in the 20 months since we launched it. The site is loaded with news, analyses and human rights reports, and receives 500 visitors a day. It has outgrown the original design, and the website had become as cluttered as my desk. But today we are launching a newly redesigned site, better organized, easier to use and fully searchable.

This week’s action: Help us out! We designed ijdh.org to be a tool for anyone needing information about human rights in Haiti, including activists, policymakers, lawyers, students, researchers and journalists. So please take a few minutes to look at the site, and let us know how we can make the site more useful for you. What kind of information do you need that is not there? Can we organize it better? Are any parts of it hard to use?
