North Miami City Council Passes Resolution Supporting Rev. Jean-Juste On December 13th, the North Miami city council unanimously passed a resolution requesting that the interim government of Haitian President Boniface Alexandre and Prime Minister Gerard Latortue immediately and unconditionally release from unjust incarceration the Reverend Gerard Jean-Juste.  Councilman Jacques Despinosse sponsored the resolution and Councilman Scott Galvin seconded it. Activist Marleine Bastien encouraged the council to pass the matter.  The office of U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek also contacted members of council to urge support.
The resolution calls Jean-Juste a hero to all of South Florida and will be circulated to government officials.  For information on other North Miami issues, visit www.scott-galvin.com.
