Internship & Fellowship Opportunities
2023 LEGAL FELLOWSHIP
IJDH is offering to host a recent J.D. (or equivalent) or LL.M. graduate for a one or two-year externally-funded legal Fellowship focused on defending Haitians’ human rights in international fora. The Fellowship is designed to train and empower new lawyers to advance social justice movements in the Global South through immersive practice in human rights advocacy within a solidarity framework. The Fellow will start in September (negotiable). Fellows must secure funding from an outside source (e.g. a law school, foundation, law firm, or other funding opportunity) to support the Fellowship. Deadline to apply: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
SUMMER 2023 INTERNSHIP
IJDH is seeking remote interns to join our team. The position is ideal for an undergraduate or non-law graduate student interested in human rights and global development. Interns and volunteers at IJDH are unpaid, but IJDH is willing to work with student applicants looking to obtain school credit. Strong preference for interns who can start in late May/early June and commit to at least 15 hours per week. Deadline to apply: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Volunteer Opportunities
Are you fluent in French and/or Kreyol? IJDH needs you. We have a great need for people who can translate both from French and/or Kreyol into English, and vice versa. Some knowledge of and/or familiarity with legal terms is helpful for many documents, but not all. If you have experience translating and are readily available by email, please CONTACT US.
