Victory for Haiti: $1.2 billion in Debt Cancellation
The Haitian people have won a great victory against historical injustice with the June 30, 2009 announcement of the cancellation of $1.2 billion in multilateral debt.  Thanks to everyone who made this possible: Rep. Maxine Waters and her colleagues in the U.S. Congress, Jubilee USA and all the other NGOs that pitched in, and especially to all the people who wrote, called, faxed, fasted and demonstrated in support of this just cause.
For more information, see our  Debt Cancellation website section, and these links:

Remembering Fr. Jean Juste

Reverend Gerard Jean-Juste, a tireless advocate for justice for Haitians in Haiti and the U.S., passed away today, May 27, 2009. Fr. Gerry’s passing is a great loss to all of us at IJDH and BAI. Fr. Gerry was our client, but also a friend and an inspiration. We’ll post some photos, videos and articles about Fr. Gerry on this site, to help us all remember. Please send any material you would like to include.

Peace, Brian Concannon Jr.
