U.S. Congress | Donor Conference | Inter-American Court of Human Rights | UN Human Rights Council | Rights-Based Approach Statements

In the wake of the January 12, 2010 earthquake in Haiti, IJDH immediately began advocating for a human rights-based approach to aid. We called for fair aid policies that keep Haitians’ human rights at the center of all relief efforts. Together with our partners, we have urged a rights-based approach before Congress, before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, before the UN Human Rights Council, and we continue advocating for a just response to the earthquake wherever decisions about Haitians’ lives are made.
