Dear Friends,The House of Grace Catholic Worker Community invites you to hear Immigration Attorney Tom Griffin give an eyewitness account of the situation in Haiti with slides on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 7pm in the Rufus Jones Room of the Friends Center at 15th and Cherry Streets.

Tom Griffin, from Philadelphia, visited Haiti twice in the past year. He has just completed the most comprehensive human rights report on the situation in Haiti to date. He was also the author of the very first human rights report to come out of Haiti after the February 29, 2004 coup d’etat. Included in these reports is information on the poorest neighborhoods in Haiti, the repression of democratic rights, denial of due process, police and UN misconduct, U.S. involvement in the ouster of President Aristide, and the prison, hospital and morgue conditions.
