In response to former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s claims that cholera victims’ lawyers, including from IJDH and BAI, sought to extort the UN when fighting for compensation in the aftermath of the cholera outbreak, BAI Managing Attorney Mario Joseph says to Al Jazeera: “We need him to repay Haiti, to people who have [had their] mother[s] killed [due to] cholera, who cannot go to school […].”
