BAI Panel Discussion: “Women’s Participation in a Clean-Break Transition”

On Friday, March 3, 2023, ahead of International Women’s Day, the BAI hosted the panel discussion “Women’s Participation in a Clean-Break Transition.” The panel, organized by the “Rezo Fanm BAI” – BAI Women’s Network – featured three feminist leaders: a former Minister, a journalist and a human rights advocate, who addressed the importance of women playing meaningful roles in any effort to get Haiti back on the democratic path. The discussion was livestreamed and attended in-person by women’s rights activists and journalists from radio, television, and print media. The discussion persisted despite gang fighting, including serious gunfire, outside the office, and the livestream had to be turned off after the feed was interrupted by racists. Nevertheless, our BAI colleagues were able to finish the event and all the attendees made it out safely.
